Authorized by the consortium for Protected Geographical Indication status (IGP) for Tuscan Extra virgin olive oil in Florence, Italy, each & every bottle of Villa Graziella extra virgin, organic, IGP olive oil is identifiable by the alphanumeric label around the neck. The code allows users to trace the entire supply chain, providing maximum transparency, authenticity & security. The IGP seal guarantees an authentic extra virgin olive oil, rich in aromas, fragrance & flavors distinguishing it as a true Tuscan.

Olive Varieties: Polyphenol rich with healthy anti-oxidant compounds, this IGP oil is crafted from four single estate organic olive varietals, Frantoio-intense & grassy with pungent notes of artichoke. Leccino-delicate & fruity, Moraiolo-concentrated notes of aromatic herbs, Pendolino-subtle & slightly nutty.

Characteristics: By harvesting the olives earlier in the fall, the Nesi family obtained a lower yield of distinctively unique oil from the rolling hills of Montespertoli in the heart of Tuscany. Limited to just 100 bottles for the U.S.

Pair with: exquisite oil flavors shine when used to dress, drizzle & finish raw or roasted vegetables, broiled or steamed fish, grilled dark & white meats, cold & hot soups, fresh fruit or in its’ simplest form with fresh bread.

Store in a cool, dark place, away from direct heat & light. Do not heat above 250°F/130°C.

Why IGP? The European Union established IPG-Indicazione Geografica Protetta or Protected Geographical Indication certification status to ensure products genuinely originating from a specified certified region as authorized to be identified as such. Since 1997, the Consortium for The Protection of Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil diligently works to protect IGP certified Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil throughout the world.

What is the Certification Process? Chemical & sensory tests are conducted by Department of Agriculture approved commissions to verify compliance with growing, harvesting, pressing & bottling regulations ensuring the oil is 100% extra virgin, olive oil from Tuscany. Per the Consortium, production of Tuscan IGP extra virgin olive oil has specific requirements for each stage, from cultivation to packaging. For example;

Groves: Producers must register their olive groves with the Consortium. Each tree is registered & belongs to the different varietals as stipulated by production regulations. The olive fruit must be mandatorily grown & cultivated in the administrative territory within the Tuscany region.

Pressing: As with the olive harvest, this stage of the production chain must be carried out in Tuscany. Authorized mills must report the daily pressing schedule to regulatory offices in the Tuscan region for audits & inspection.
